The Rugrats Movie Activity Challenge CD

The Rugrats Movie Activity Challenge is a puzzle game, developed and published by Broderbund, which was released in September 1998. The game features six mini games based on The Rugrats Movie.

Summary[]

Six mind-bending games that'll knock your diapies off!

Before starting, the player inputs their name and selects their difficulty level. After the introduction cutscene, the player can choose any of the 6 games. Each game has 10 levels of increasing difficulty. During gameplay, players collect items like bottles and rattles to gain points. If the Cynthia doll is collected, the bonus stage is unlocked, allowing the player to gain more points to the final score.

As the player completes a round of a game, they receive a coin. Collecting all 60 coins unlocks the ending cutscene.

Mini-Games[]

  • Aqua Reptar - Dil has been taken by the monkeys! Help the babies raft down the river with the Aqua Reptar Wagon. But, watch out for rocks and monkeys throwing bananas, as they will puncture the raft's tube.
  • Stu's Workshop - Angelica is stuck in Stu's antigravity playpen. Tommy and Chuckie must use the other inventions on Stu's workbench to cause a chain reaction that will press the button to deactivate the playpen.
  • Makin' Tracks - Tommy has gotten separated from the rest of the babies. Rearrange the train tracks to guide the Reptar Wagon around the forest, picking up the babies, and heading towards the exit.
  • Monkey Mayhem - The monkeys have stolen Dil and all the baby food. Using a moving see-saw, launch Tommy and Chuckie into the air to grab the food from the monkeys. After collecting all the jars of food, a monkey will dangle Dil from the tree. Grab him to win the game.
  • Traffic Trouble - The Reptar Wagon is stuck in traffic. Move the cars and trucks around to allow the Reptar Wagon to escape the traffic jam.
  • Reptar Rhythm - Reptar is destroying a city! Press the keys on screen to stomp and crush buildings in time to one of 5 songs.
  • Bonus Level - Spike is running through the forest, towing Angelica on rollerblades behind him. Avoid the hazards in your way and collect as many binkies, rattles, and bottles as you can to rack up points to add to the final score.

Trivia[]

  • Bugs/Glitches/Missing Material:
    • In Stu's Workshop, objects like the toaster or ping-pong ball server will make objects fly towards Angelica (which is necessary to unlock the bonus stage for this game). Usually, she flinches, but sometimes, she will say a line before flinching. Her eyes and mouth will be missing from her face for a second before saying anything.
    • All the hazards in Aqua Reptar can be avoided by going backwards from the starting point, and heading towards the right or left of the riverbank, and entering the stage's exit from outside. Moving too far backwards or to the left/right will lead to an invisible wall that punctures the raft.
    • In the manual, it mentions that at several points during Reptar Rhythm, Rex Pester will appear to comment on your progress. This does not happen in the game.
  • Rex Pester is voiced by Joe Alaskey in this game instead of his regular voice actor, Tim Curry.
  • Scott Lloyd Shelly, who composed the songs for Reptar Rhythm, also composed music for various edutainment games, episodes of The Crocodile Hunter, and would later compose the music for Terraria.
