The screwdriver is a toy that Tommy Pickles often uses to help him and his friends break out of the playpen in several episodes.
In one episode "Fluffy vs. Spike", Tommy's cousin Angelica took his screwdriver away and used it as a microphone, but fortunately Phil and Lil each had one with them. Angelica also used the screwdriver as a way to try and prize out Chuckie's teeth in "Tooth or Dare", but after giving a demonstration involving a toy box and a ball, she gave up on it. In another episode "Auctioning Grandpa", Tommy mistakes his grandfather Lou as being sold in the auction so he uses the screwdriver to buy him back.
In the 2021 series, his screwdriver becomes electronic and states a phrase whenever the button on it is pressed. It can also spin to fix the nails. He often holds his screwdriver aloft when stating his catchphrase "A baby's gotta do what a baby's gotta do!"
