Rusty is a minor character in the 2021 series of Rugrats. He is a robot dog created by Stu for Chas and Chuckie to keep as a pet. He is voiced by Tommy Dewey.
Description[]
Rusty was created as an allergy-free pet for Chas and Chuckie. All goes well, he even poops out jellybeans, and Chuckie gets along with Rusty as they play all day together. Rusty, however, comes with a few problems such as setting off a loud alarm when a noisy car passes by in the middle of the night. Stu remedies this by adjusting Rusty and making him more "helpful". This results in Rusty being too helpful as he prevents Chuckie from playing with his friends due to Rusty returning objects to Chuckie every time. Eventually, after Chas' failed attempt to return him to Stu, Rusty turns on Chas thinking he's a dog catcher and chases him up the tree in the Pickles' backyard. Tommy and Chuckie stop Rusty by setting off his jets causing him to fly out of control before launching away into the sky.
In the episode Little Daddy, he makes a cameo when Grandpa Lou finds Rusty's head (which says "Woof Bark Woof") in a box of spare parts while looking for a robotic arm. This could either be a prototype, a replacement head, or (unlikely) Rusty's actual head, but it's never explained.

Rusty is made of metal with red robotic eyes, a red collar with a bone tag, and purple glasses that resemble Chuckie's.
Trivia[]
- This character is possibly a reference to Goddard from Jimmy Neutron, however, it could also be a reference to the simple fact that toy robotic dogs like Poo-Chi and Tekno (and even non-toy robot dogs such as AIBO) were super popular from the late-90's to the early-2000's, a timespan in which Rugrats was still airing.
