  • July 16th, 2020: Sadly, Michael Bell and Phil Proctor will not return to reprise their roles on the revival. However, Cheryl Chase, Melanie Chartoff, and Nancy Cartwright will return to reprise their roles. Proctor also revealed that the voice director wanted a younger cast to voice the adults in the revival. The revival will premiere in 2021.
  • October 14th, 2020: Nickelodeon unveiled the first look of the revival of the show. It is also revealed that most of the surviving cast are expected to reprise their respective roles. To learn more, click here.
  • February 16th, 2021: Mark Mothersbaugh, the composer of the series, just revealed that the revival is now in the works. He also revealed that he made a new theme song, while his brother, Bob Mothersbaugh, made new music scores and songs for the revival.
  • February 24th, 2021: It is now officially revealed that all cast of the original toddlers returned their voices. A sneak preview for the revival is also now available right here. It is slated to premiere on Paramount+ this year.
  • March 18th, 2021: An all-new cast for the parents has been revealed for the upcoming revival.
  • May 5th, 2021: The release date for the 2021 series has been set for May 27th, 2021! A new official trailer has also been released here.
  • May 12th, 2021: A mini-series called Rugrats Shorts will premiere on May 14th, 2021 on Nickelodeon! Click here for more information!

Rugrats is an animated television series created by Arlene Klasky, Gábor Csupó, and Paul Germain for Nickelodeon. The series premiered on August 11, 1991 and aired its last episode on August 1, 2004. The series focuses on six babies, mainly Tommy Pickles, Tommy's mean three-year-old cousin, Angelica, and the Pickles' family dog, Spike (1991). The original series was cancelled, but is still playing in reruns on TeenNick's late night block, NickRewind. The revival will premiere on May 27, 2021. A live-action/CGI hybrid movie is supposed to be released soon, but it was later removed from Paramount's release schedule. A mini-series full of shorts will also premiere on May 14, 2021 on Nickelodeon.
