"Tommy's Ball" is the first short of the Rugrats Shorts. It was released on May 13, 2021 on YouTube, while it was on broadcast for the first time on May 14, 2021 on Nickelodeon.

Angelica kicks Tommy’s new ball over the fence.[1]
Plot
Tommy shows the Rugrats to his new and "favoritest" ball Grandpa Lou gave to him. All babies are shocked, and Chuckie has a question on "Where did he get his new ball?". Tommy answers about how he got it from; he throws to Chuckie for him to catch, but Angelica steals and catches his new ball. Angelica schemes herself and says "Nice try." Tommy angrily tries to convince Angelica to give his favorite ball back, but she refuses as she is trying to be "the boss" to the babies. Afterwards, Angelica throws the ball through the sky since he does not says anything nicely to her. She leaves as she thinks that the babies have none to play with. An unfortunate soul comes to Tommy, with his face shocked. Lil states to Tommy to not worry about the ball, while Phil states that it is just a "dumb ball [anyway]". Tommy cries and whines loudly, as his mother, Didi, immediately comes to save and nurture him. He tries to make him feel better by playing with Tommy, shaking from up to down. Her action repeats until Tommy sees that his new ball is above the fence on the bushes. Didi knows that he feels better and drops him down. He kisses him and walks away from him.
Phil wonders why Tommy stopped crying. Tommy answers that he "saw it", but since Phil and Lil have confusion, they both ask "What?". Afterwards, Tommy precisely answers that he saw the ball over the fence. Phil and Lil misunderstands, and Phil convinces Tommy to forget about the ball. Tommy becomes worried since he does not want to forget about the ball. Since Chuckie says that he is just a baby, Tommy has a point that a "baby's gotta do, what a baby's gotta do".
A moment later, Susie is glad that he got his new ball back. She throws it to Tommy, and he knows that Angelica should have not throw the ball since it makes him feel upset. Tommy throws his ball back to Chuckie, and Chuckie says that he does not get "why Angelica throws the ball over the fence?". Chuckie throws the ball to Phil. Phil says that she "maybe got mad", and Phil passes it to Lil. Lil says that she "maybe was cranky". Lil passes the ball to Susie as she says that she "maybe was being 'Angelica'". Tommy and Chuckie become frightened, as Susie wonders why they are afraid. She looks back to Angelica as she gets the ball and kicks Tommy's new ball again. The short ends with Angelica looking at the screen.
Trivia
- This episode is a remake of the original series episode "Barbecue Story". The only complete differences are that it does not have a lot of scenes from the original, and the ending has Susie with the rest of the Rugrats in this short.
