Charles Crandall Norbert "Chuckie" Finster, Jr. [citation needed] is the adorable best friend of Tommy and acts as the deuteragonist of Nickelodeon's 2021 animated TV series Rugrats. He is often seen clutching his plush Reptar doll and is the worrier of the group. He's a left-handed, creative-thinking, big-feeling toddler. As a child from a home that's been clouded by grief, he naturally expects the worst and feels the deepest. He has many phobias yet finds himself, along with his friends, on adventures that he would normally avoid. Chuckie has a strong desire to be brave like Tommy - just not today. [1]

Description

Where Tommy is a ‘doer,’ Chuckie is more of a ‘thinker,’ and he’s got a lot on his mind - mostly, a running list of fears and dangers. Still, when he’s got his pals by his side, Chuckie can’t resist coming along for the ride. Interests include outer space, keeping things tidy, and trying to be brave like Tommy…eventually. - Description from Nickelodeon website[2]

Looks

Chuckie's appearance is still similar to his 1991 counterpart's, however his look is modified with visibility of his eyebrows, bigger wavy lines on his green shorts, and colored freckles. His shoelaces are now completely untied. In “Final Eclipse”, he comments that he should have let his daddy tie his shoes, suggesting that he may be afraid of them being tied. He is revealed to already be potty trained, mentioned in “Tail of the Dogbot”, and also revealed to be wearing white briefs with purple spots in “The Last Balloon”.

In "Bottles Away", while telling Tommy of his time of giving up his bottle, a 1-year-old Chuckie appeared wearing space themed pajamas and Reptar slippers (much similar to the ones he still currently wears on a occasion in the series) along with not having any glasses and only his bead sized eyes.

Appearances

As of right now, Chuckie appears in every episode of the 2021 series.
